Wash them gently with Lux Brush Soap using light, circular motions. Do not scrub hard or soak the whole brush, as water in the ferrule can loosen the bristles over time. Rinse thoroughly, reshape while damp, and lay flat to dry. Cleaning them the right way is what keeps the synthetic bristles soft and full.

The set includes 10 brushes covering the core steps of a full face. Each brush has its name printed on the handle so you always know what it is for. The set also comes in a travel holder/case (the holder is only available as part of the set, not sold separately).

It depends on how often you use them. For brushes used daily, most people wash them about once a week; lighter or occasional use is fine every two to four weeks. Regular cleaning keeps the bristles soft, hygienic, and performing well, and helps your brushes last for years.

Our brushes have wooden handles and high-quality synthetic bristles. The synthetic fibers are chosen to feel soft and luxurious while giving smooth, even application, and they are gentle on mature skin. They are cruelty-free.

We sell a few of the brushes individually so you can replace a favorite or add an extra, but the complete set is not sold brush-by-brush. If there is a specific brush you are after, reach out and we can point you to the ones currently available on their own.

We recommend our Lux Brush Soap. It is what Nikol uses to clean her own brushes. Swirl the damp brush over the solid soap, work up a gentle lather, rinse the bristles under lukewarm water until the water runs clear, then reshape and lay flat to dry. There is also a short demo video on our site and Nikol’s YouTube channel showing the full process.

No, the angled Concealer Brush that Nikol often uses in tutorials is a separate item and is not part of the Essential Makeup Brush Set. You can view the set’s full brush lineup on the product page.

After rinsing, gently squeeze out excess water, reshape the bristles, and lay the brushes flat (or with the bristles angled slightly downward) to air dry. Avoid standing them upright while wet, which can loosen the glue in the ferrule. Full drying can take several hours to a day depending on the brush size and your room’s humidity.

The name of each brush is printed right on its handle. An older printed “cheat sheet” was included with earlier sets but is no longer used, since the handle labels replaced it. Nikol also has a tutorial on her YouTube channel showing how she uses each brush in the set.
