Hey everyone, welcome back! I've been a bit quiet lately because of jury duty, which was a really tough experience. But I'm back and ready to share some makeup tips with you. Today, we're going for a casual, chic, and laid-back makeup look that's perfect for everyday wear. I'm also excited to talk about a foundation I've never featured before, even after 10 years on YouTube! I truly think it's the most underrated foundation out there, especially for us ladies over 40.

I'm also making a couple of changes to my videos. You'll now find chapter breakdowns, like a little cheat sheet, so you can easily jump to the parts you're most interested in. Also, I've decided to ditch dip powder for my nails. The removal process was just too much, and honestly, it's basically powdered acrylic. I'm ready for a fresh start and to play with beautiful nail polish colors again, which I can now do myself!

Getting Started With Skincare

First things first, let's prep the skin. My lips are feeling a bit dry, so I'm starting with a little Vitamin E lip treatment. For the rest of my face, I'm keeping it simple with the EVER Daylight Moisturizer SPF 32. It's a mineral sunscreen that gives the skin a beautiful, satiny finish without being tinted.

Next, I'm applying my eye and lip primer. I love this stuff because it neutralizes the eyelid. A pro tip: always do your eyes before anything else on your face. This way, if you get any fallout, you won't mess up your concealer or foundation. It just makes the cleanup process so much easier.

Eye Makeup Application

Today, I'm using the "Not Overlooked" eyeshadow palette. It's back in stock, which is great news! This palette is super easy to use, and the shades are beautiful. I'm taking the middle color, which has a lovely sheen – not glitter, so no worries there. I'm pressing it right onto the lid, focusing on the center and then gently pushing it towards the inner and outer corners. Remember, pressing the shadow into the lid with a flat brush is key for an intentional application.

Then, I'm taking a soft pink shade on the other side of the brush and applying it right under the brow bone, blending it into the first shade. Don't be afraid to experiment with your eyeshadow! There's no right or wrong way. The most important thing is to find what works for your eye shape and colors, and to feel confident in your choices. Having a curated eyeshadow wardrobe can really take the stress out of makeup application.

For a little depth, I'm using the darkest color to contour the end of my eye, thinking of it like an arrow shape. I then take a tapered blending brush to soften everything up, making sure there are no harsh lines. If I go too far, I just use a makeup remover pad to clean up any excess. It's all about making it look blended and seamless.

I'm also using my own brush set, which has nine essential, vegan brushes that are designed to be simple and easy to use. No need for a huge collection of brushes when you have the right tools.

Color Correcting and Foundation

I noticed my skin is a little red, so I'm going in with my "No Redness" beauty stick. I'm applying it just to the areas where I have redness and pigmentation. This helps to color correct before applying foundation. It's not about covering up, but altering the color so it won't show through.

Now for the star of the show: the foundation! I'm trying out the Dior Dream Skin Fresh and Perfect Cushion. This is a cushion foundation, which means liquid foundation is held in a sponge. You tap your sponge to get the perfect amount of product. It's lightweight and offers medium coverage. While it claims to be matte and luminous, I found it to be somewhere in between, which is actually quite nice. It gives a beautiful, radiant, and natural-looking finish without feeling heavy or looking like you're wearing a lot of makeup. It's a great alternative if you want a bit more coverage than a BB or CC cream but don't want to feel masked.

I'm pressing the foundation into my skin with the sponge. You can build up the coverage as needed. This shade is 020, and it's a nice match. What's great about this foundation is that it comes with a refill cartridge, so you get two for the price. It also has SPF 50, which is a nice bonus.

Brightening and Setting

To brighten up my under-eye area, I'm using an eye brightener. This peachy color helps to counteract any darkness. I'm then taking my buffing brush to blend it in. For this cushion foundation, I highly recommend setting with a translucent powder. I'm using a pressed, lightweight HD translucent powder to set everything without adding extra weight to the skin.

Final Touches: Lashes, Brows, and Cheeks

I've curled my lashes and I'm applying mascara, focusing on the base of the lashes to create a fuller look, almost like wearing eyeliner. For this casual look, I'm skipping eyeliner.

For lips, I'm lining them with "Whirl" from MAC and then applying my favorite lipstick, "NikRay." It's a very simple, natural color that's almost like a color balm.

Next, brows. I'm using my medium skinny brow pencil to fill in any sparse areas. My brows are pretty full, so it doesn't take much.

Finally, I'm using my "Classic Beach" face palette. This palette has a universal matte bronzer, a peachy blush with gold flecks, and a highlighter. I created this palette years ago because I needed an all-in-one solution for quick touch-ups. I'm warming up my skin with the bronzer, then adding the blush, and finishing with the highlighter on my cheekbones. It really brings the face to life.

I'm setting my makeup with a long-wear setting spray, and I'm liking the results so far.

The Reveal

And here's the finished look! A beautiful, casual, and chic makeup look. I've managed to give my hair a little lift with the velcro curlers, and I'm happy with how it turned out. This is the perfect everyday makeup look, paired with a crisp white shirt and jeans. I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, and I can't wait to see you in my next video!
