I love breaking fashion rules and who knows why there is even a rule about wearing white after Labor Day. Living in South Florida, I have the option to wear white all year round not a bad perk, eh? Even when I am in New York City or Chicago in the winter, I love wearing winter white on white. There is something so clean, crisp, and sophisticated about wearing white no matter what season.
My inspiration for this style came from the gorgeous location. We were shooting at a historic house in East Fort Lauderdale called The Bonnet House. If you haven’t had the opportunity to visit, you need to schedule ASAP.
Tons of old Florida history here from spider monkeys that date back decades on the property to gorgeous lily pads in the pod. The Bonnet House is rich in art, style, and a slower-paced life. I dream of a life where I can swing in a hammock and sip on mojitos all day long, feeling the warm sun beating on my face looking up at the wispy palm fronds. Of course, I snap out of it drink three cups of coffee and continue on my obsession with being a workaholic. #keepitreal
