Go For The Sheen This Year!

Makeup is fun; it sets the mood for the day, whether you are in PJ’s or glamming it up in a sequin robe like me with a glass of Rose in hand. I love pushing the beauty boundaries with both color and my style choices. Who knew I loved blazers over bathing suits so much in the winter? Today I am taking it up a notch with a metallic duster, which design style is named “Circle of Life.”

It’s hard to be on a yacht and a private island at the same time but that is exactly where I am today. I have on a super high shine NiKOL Cosmetics lip gloss called On a Yacht. It was from our fall 2020 capsule collection, and I added just the right amount of color to my cheeks with the “My Private Island” blush palette.

On a Yacht lip gloss is a great tone of coppery plum with gold shimmer, pulling the soft lavender and purple tones from my sequin duster. If you love a slightly tacky long-wearing lip gloss this is the perfect transitional color from winter to spring. Super pigmented, contains antioxidant Vitamin E, natural vanilla extract, and retains its gorgeous color. I lined my lips with our creamy kohl lip pencil in Deep Plum. “My Private Island” 3-well blush palette is made up of soft mauvy pinks that are triple-milled for a silky smooth application. A great feature is that my cosmetics are fragrance-free. I tend to grab this blush palette throughout the week when I want to give my skin that soft natural fresh glow.

I don’t normally wear purple tones, but in 2021 I have made it my goal to play with color, to try colors that I always said the word NO to, and allow myself not to be stuck in a limiting beauty box. If you don’t like it, the best part of makeup is to wipe it off and start over. This year, challenge yourself to go all out and wear that pink lip, smokey eye, or bright, beautiful blush.
