I can’t believe that the year 2021 is almost over, AND it’s October. What? I know I have been away from my blog for quite some time, but I am back and diving right into my first passion; writing about beauty and style. I am still in disbelief that fall is here. Seriously where did the time go? I have been so busy filming YouTube videos that upload on Mondays and Fridays I love starting my week off with you and ending it with you. Weekly photoshoots and a couple of big projects have taken up my writing time. The much-anticipated change of seasons and fall style is here, and I usually don’t get to indulge that much in cold weather clothing living in a tropical environment. When the weather drops below 80 degrees here, we celebrate and pull out all our sweaters, gloves, and jackets lol I know it’s ridiculous, but a girl has to pretend to have seasons! Even though I don’t get to add many fall fashion items, I follow the seasonal classics from the runway and have found three stand-out pieces I think you should have in your closet this fall, no matter what the weather. Let’s not forget about a classic red lip this fall! Wearing my favorite matte lipstick called “Secret Weapon.”
The classic style has always been my go-to with fashion and beauty; I am not big into trends, probably because it just looks meh on me every time I try and do a trend. I always feel I am trying to fit into a box that doesn’t have my name. I stick to tailored pieces, solid colors, and designers that I think represent my classic style. I do step outside of the box with bright colors, florals, or artsy patterns at times. I like to experiment with my style, but I know my limits. There is a resurgence of the classic loafer; this is the most straightforward style element to update for any wardrobe this fall. I love a tapered loafer with a flat heel, but I also enjoy a block heel style for long pants, which you will see made a comeback this fall.
Chunky Textured Knit Sweaters are a favorite of mine. I love oversized sweaters that you can throw on with a pair of jeans and watch the Hallmark channel all weekend long. Last year we had a cold snap around Christmas, and I lived in my chunky sweaters next to the fireplace (I think I showed over on Instagram endless stories of our fireplace last season). Don’t think that you will be weighted down with a heavy sweater, the new twist on the chunky sweaters is that they come in thinner fabrics yet still give off the cozy, cable, ultra laid-back vibe.
Tailored pants are a staple in your wardrobe. There is nothing like putting on a beautiful pair of full-length tailored pants that feel sophisticated and chic. I recommend having a pair of black and navy pressed and ready to wear at a moment’s notice. You can pair them with a flowy blouse, white T-Shirt, or halter neck top. Instantly uplevel your style and look pulled together with little effort. I prefer to have a button closure in the front or a tie at the waist. I am seeing tailored pants this season giving us more room and extra length.
