Now that I have been on Stay Home Shelter Mode for the past two weeks, I have been going through all my beauty care products and routines. I discovered products that I forgot about in my drawers the little rituals I would do but got too busy for in the past year or so.
If you are into hygiene, this product is for you. I can’t even remember when I started my exciting tongue scraping morning ritual. I was doing random shopping on Amazon (more on this later) and found this tongue scraper. I was amazed that I could add something so valuable to my health for only $7.99. I wasn’t sure if tongue scraping would do anything beneficial, but I am always up for experimenting with new products that can improve my overall health, so I hit the Add to Cart button.
Little did I know I would fall in love with my tongue scraper. Now, of course, this is not a replacement for brushing your teeth (I won’t brush my teeth with anything but this toothbrush toothpaste and coconut oil dental floss). Brushing your tongue with your toothbrush is subpar to tongue scraping. Think of it this way. Brushing your tongue with your toothbrush is like using a makeup wipe to take off your makeup, kind of does the trick kind of, but leaves a lot of makeup, oil, not to mention breakouts, etc. on the face. Washing your face with a facial cleanser breaks down makeup, oil, dirt, pollution, and leaves the skin fresh and clean ready for your serum. So why should you add in a little tongue scraping to your morning routine? There are four surprising benefits of reducing bad breath to improving your sense of taste. Let’s explore them all.
Reducing Bad Breath: The buildup of excess bacteria, dead cells, debris can cause your tongue to take on a coated white appearance. Most bacteria are of the “good kind,” but there are other kinds that can cause bad breath, gum infections, and decay. Scraping your tongue will keep bacteria, food debris, and dead cells from building up and causing health issues-no more white cast to your tongue.
Removing Bacteria: A fascinating study from 2005 found that using a tongue scraper twice daily for seven days reduced the overall incidence of Mutans streptococci and Lactobacilli bacteria in the mouth. Bad breath and dental decay have found to be fueled by these types of bacteria.
Improve overall health: We all want to prevent cavities, gum disease and remove unwanted bacteria using a tongue scraper that helps all of these health issues. You will be amazed at how clean your tongue feels after your very first session.
Improve your sense of taste: If you search for the studies and research done on tongue scraping, you will find multiple reports that show using a tongue scraper twice daily can improve your sense of taste. Great news for wine lovers!
Here is how I use my tongue scraper each morning and night.
