Some might ask what am I reaching for? What drives me? I have always been a woman that had goals, drive, passion but not to the level that I have now. So this will be one of my deep blog posts, you know outside of the pretty little beauty and fashion box that we all know. I am a little different from my approach with my beauty and style content on my blog. I have a story to tell whether that is through my IVF journey, gray hair defiance or breaking the beauty rules on age. I don’t follow trends or play it safe to appease brands. I stopped valuing myself based on man-made YouTube or Instagram numbers. What you see is what you get it’s that simple and refreshing here on my blog.
I find myself more emotional lately reading comments on my Instagram from women when I ask thought-provoking questions like the one recently “What is the most BadAss Thing You Have Ever Done?” With responses like “Battling Multiple Sclerosis” to “Was in the Military.” It gets real.
My strength comes from helping other women through my life challenges. The only reason I got through my darkest points was that I had a tribe of women supporting me throughout IVF and my transition to silver hair. It was such an amazing feeling because up until I posted a video on YouTube in 2015 about what I was going through with my unexpected life challenge the negative comments were really all I saw. The world will always be crazy, stressful and sometimes downright insane. There was no mistake that I was gifted with infertility so delicately directed by God it was incredible. I was guided and connected to women who had already been through IVF. Blogs, Facebook private groups, etc. I connected with women that were going through exactly what I was going through. It felt almost like when I was twelve and signed up for summer camp. I didn’t know anyone, felt out of place and then a girl pops out of the cabin and says “Let’s Go I will show you around.”
Always keep reaching in life. I don’t know what that means for you at this very moment but whatever you desire in life make it happen by putting key elements in motion. Stop sitting around wishing you went back to college, wrote that book, started your MBA, moved to a different city. What are you waiting for? Stop making excuses. Reach, stretch and above all have gratitude for your incredible life.
